Have you ever stopped to think
About how you live your life,
Pushing to keep up with everyone else
So bringing yourself more strife.

You take a look at your neighbour
Or someone else you don’t know,
Just because they’ve bought a new car,
You think they have got more dough.

There’s washing machines and microwaves
Televisions and laptops too,
All the latest technology
And you’ve got to have it brand new!

You apply for loans from the adverts
Much more than you can afford,
Your credit cards are up to the hilt
And it causes family discord.

You get up early and go to work
To try to earn more cash,
And then it’s trying to get home again,
Joining the mad evening dash.

You never have a minute to spare
Nothing seems to go your way
All your time is taken up
There’s not enough hours in the day.

Your life style will never alter
If you do not make a plan
You’ll keep going round in circles,
Until you hit the fan!

Take two steps back and look at you
And answer with hand on heart,
That from today you’ll make a plan
And put the horse before the cart!
